School Lunch Menu and Free School Meals
For children in Nursery, Years 3-6 payment is required in advance via parent pay. Meals are priced at £2.46 for Nursery pupils and £2.66 for years 3-6. Universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) provide funding for schools to offer free school meals to pupils in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2.
Check if you can apply
Children can get free school meals, if their parents or guardians get:
- Universal Credit income below £7,400.00.
- As well as Free School Meals, these pupils will still bring pupil premium and other disadvantage funding to their school now known as Targeted Qualifying Criteria.
- Universal Credit income above £7,400.00.
- These pupils will be entitled to Free School Meals only known as Expanded Qualifying Criteria.
- Income Support
- Job Seeker's Allowance (income based)
- Employment and Support Allowance
- Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit
- Support payments under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Important: If your child receives Free School Meals, the award will continue until July 2027. This applies regardless of any changes to your income.

Holiday Food Programme
Bradford Council is again working with a range of community groups across the district this half-term to support disadvantaged families with holiday hunger.
Many of these organisations provide support over the holidays. They have excellent relationships with their communities. Families can contact 01274 431000 to access to district-wide support.
